Meet Allison Pickell | Coldwell Banker RPM Group in Midtown

Updated: Jul 9, 2021

Allison Pickell is a true Midtown expert. Her attention to detail and work ethic translates to great stagings and fast sales. We asked Allison a few questions to get to know her a little better...

If you had to organize a tour of your area of expertise, what three must-visit places would you hit?

My area of expertise is the Heights & Hillcrest Neighborhood(s). Three must-visit stops include:

  • Allsopp Park – It is such a treat to have such a great park in the center of the city with beautiful hiking trails.

  • Farmer’s Market x2:

What’s your favorite ethnic food? Is there a restaurant in your area that does it well?

My favorite ethnic food in the area is Café Bossa Nova. The charming locally owned Hillcrest restaurant offers authentic Brazilian cuisine. My favorite menu item is the Tilapia Assada – Pan-seared Tilapia topped with aromatic basil pesto and served over rice with a mista salad.

What’s your ultimate local meal?

My appetizer favorite is the Chicken Nachos at The Fold in Riverdale.

My favorite entrée is the Thai Chop Salad at Big Orange Midtown.

My favorite desert is from Trios! Honestly everything they make is delicious. My favorites are the Strawberry Shortcake and the Banana Delight.

If you had to pick a last meal, what would it be?

Chicken Enchiladas and a margarita from Baja Grill in the Heights. I love their fresh ingredients!

What do you like to do when you are not working?

When I am not working I like to travel. Quite frankly, just about the only way to stop working as a realtor is to leave town! And even then I usually have my laptop with me…but I work less when I am away! And I have no particular spot that is my actual favorite because I like to go to different spots each time! If I have to pick a particular type I go to somewhat regularly, it would be the beach. But that might be one of the many along 30A in Florida, or Hilton Head or the BVI.

What’s your favorite movie of all time? What’s your favorite TV show right now? Favorite sport to watch on TV?

My favorite movie of all time is Forrest Gump! I don’t actually watch much TV. From time to time I will watch a Netflix series, but it’s not a daily or weekly thing for me. I do love to watch the Razorbacks whenever I get the opportunity! Football, Basketball or Baseball. It’s all good to me! WPS!

Favorite travel spot?

I’m not picky! I like it all! I probably frequent to the beach more than other places but that could be 30A, South Beach, St. John, etc! In the United States and Canada, there is so much opportunity and so many places I still want to go to! The Christmas before the pandemic hit, I was fortunate enough to travel with my family to France, Germany & Austria. It was the first time in my life not to spend Christmas in Little Rock, AR! It was a fun adventure and I was lucky to travel with my family before all the chaos began!

What’s your hidden talent?

Making Lemonade out of Lemons! I am a glass-half-full kind of girl! I can usually see an upside or a solution to just about anything presented to me.

Biggest pet peeve?

Negativity

Do you have a favorite quote?

My sellers will all tell you they hear this one…

“You never get a second chance to make a first impression!” It is so important to have your home ready to impress on the first day on the market! Many may read a post that says “sold in 1 day,” especially right now, but most have no idea that it took several weeks to get the home ready for that 1 day! Handymen, painters, gardeners, stagers, etc. It takes a village, but I love making my listings shine!
